Formal announcement would be after Esha Deol meets Soniaji with her husband
After inviting Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani, Congress President Sonia Gandhi decided to offer Esha Deol a Rajya Sabha's MP seat. While formal announcement would be made after the meeting, few Congress MPs already accepted the development.
"UPA Government plans to offer Eshaji Rajya Sabha's MP seat for her immense contribution to Bollywood. She has made her presence felt from the great blockbuster movies like 'Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe', 'Chai Garam', 'Ghost Ghost Na Raha' and 'Kaanch - The Broken Glass'. While before more heart breaks she finally decided to take early retirement," said Rajiv Shukla, chief of IPL, an Indian journalist and the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
Formal announcement will be made after Sonia Gandhi meets Esha with her husband Bharat when they will take blessings from India's most powerful woman.
Esha Deol's mother Hema Malini said "We are very happy for UPA Government's announcement. This is best gift for Esha and I hope that at least now Indian public will accept Esha in a new role."
